Our history

Norblock ASwas established in 1987 in Bjørnevatn, Finnmark, in order to become a considerable exporter of natural stone products to the international markets based on producing natural stone of iron ore in Bjørnevatn and later to be quarrying the green Fuxite quartzite in Kautokeino.

 

Today the Norblock Group owns the right to quarry and sell four exclusive sorts of marble, two sorts of light granite and one green quartzite.

 

Fuxite ASwas established in 1998 to operate the natural stone quarry in Kautokeino, Finnmark, to produce the green quartzite, marketed as Arctic Green (earlier known as Verde Lapponia).

 

Norwegian Rose ASis a quarry company with roots back to 1884. Den Ankerske Marmorforretning developed the company to be one of the leading producers of white and pink marble. The company name Norwegian Rose AS was given in 2013 when it was sold to Norblock AS. The stone quarry takes out four different types of marble, Norwegian Rose, Norwegian White, Ermelin and Antique Verda.

Trøndergranitt ASowns two natural stone quarries. The quarry in Støren has a long history, and has been operating for more than 150 years, and was already opened in 1852. The company became a part of the Norblock Group in 2011. The light granite is known as Storen Silver White or just Silver White.

The quarry in Rennebu opened for test operation in year 2000 and started regular quarry operation to take out blocks the year after. The quarry was incorporated in Trøndergranitt AS in 2013. The quarry takes out an almost white granite named Ice Green.
